Michael Macaulay

Michael first started in comedy around the turn of millennium but then stopped (without offering any explanation) for nearly two decades.  But now he’s working again in Wellington and beyond and in 2021 he co-starred in Half-In/Half-Out at the Wellington Fringe, even though he’s got no meaningful pop culture references left.  In the old days he won the Becks Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (2001), and more recently he was Cartel Comedy’s MC of the year (2020), and also winner of the 2020 Welly for Nicest Greenroomer.  Make of that what you will but he’s very proud, as is his mum.
